Tug-E and Howie

Welcome to the All-Electric Project!

We are working to combine our passion for sustainability with our love for the mobile and adventure lifestyle

Our focus

  • Sustainable energy: John installs solar – we should be solar-powered.
  • Travel: We love to travel – we can do it better.
  • Adventure: We are drawn to adventure. Let’s try something new!

Read more about “The Why” of our project.

Go do!

What are we trying to do?

  1. Reduce our carbon footprint
  2. Reduce direct fossil fuel usage
  3. Remove propane from our trailer and diesel from our driving
  4. Convert to renewable energy sources
  5. Maintain our adventurous/nomadic lifestyle
  6. Consider other environmental effects
  7. Look for ways to make a bigger impact
  8. Collaborate with others
  9. Document this process as we go

For more thoughts along these lines, check out my blog post called “The What”.

We are John and Marcy Beard: Race-running, solar-installing, world-exploring nomads.

We don’t think we can change the whole world at once, but maybe just one tiny piece at a time.

I’ve written more about our story in the post “About us”.

Hope is definitely not the same thing as optimism. It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out. - Vaclav Havel
